De La Salle 3-12; Ballygunner 0-12
There will be no three in a row of Minor Hurling titles for Ballygunner after they were beaten in the County semi-final by city rivals, De La Salle in Walsh Park last Saturday.
De La Salle lived up to the old adage that goals win games as the three they scored proved to be the difference between the teams at the end.
It is doubtful whether there would have been nine points or even anything at all between the teams if De La Salle’s dynamic duo of Jamie Sage and Jake Dillon had not been playing.
Their movement, pace, clever interplay and lethal finishing was particularly evident in the first half and was the key to the De La Salle victory.
