WaterfordAirportArialDespite a ‘very difficult economic environment’, passenger numbers at Waterford Airport declined by just seven per cent during 2010, according to its annual report.
This led Chairman Dan Browne to describe the 105,000 passengers (2009: 112,000) who passed through the Airport last year as “a positive outturn”.
In his Chairman’s Statement, Mr Browne states that the restrictions in Irish and British airspace due to Iceland’s volcanic ash cloud, coupled with poor end of year weather, had proven significant contributors to the decline.
