Fáilte Ireland has relocated its regional office in Waterford into the plush surrounds of Maritana Gate opposite The People’s Park.
The new lease holding agreement, reached with Sherry FitzGerald John Rohan, will see the tourism body moving into 3,767 square feet of office space on the fourth floor of the Canada Street building.
Fáilte Ireland Chairman Redmond O’Donoghue described the relocation as “an excellent move”.
Said Mr O’Donoghue: “It offers a superb modern workplace which allows efficiency of work in a professional setting. Now, more than ever, it is necessary to present Waterford City in its best light to our clients.”
Fáilte Ireland now finds itself located alongside ‘neighbours’ including Waterford City Council, Fewer Harrington and Partners and Anglo Irish Bank.
The offices on The Quay previously occupied by Fáilte Ireland have since been leased (also via Sherry FitzGerald John Rohan) by the city’s Tall Ships coordinators.
“We are delighted to be the handling agent dealing with such well known names as Fáilte Ireland and the Tall Ships,” said John Rohan.
“These moves, together with the strong interest we are experiencing on Ruby’s, The Woodman, Muldoon’s, Oxygen and Masons demonstrate that confidence is returning in the city.”
Mr Rohan added: “With the newly constructed Waterford Crystal manufacturing facility, retail store and visitor centre due to open soon; we believe the tide is now turning for Waterford.”
