Figures filed with the Companies Registration Office reveal that Genzyme is continuing to enjoy success at its Waterford facility.
The Massachusetts based biotechnology company has seen profits from its Waterford facility, which employs over 450 people, substantially increase.
Pretax profits from the Déise plant rose to €26.5 million last year from €5.9 million in 2008. The company reported a revenue in Waterford of €788.8 million, which accounts for 23.5 per cent of Genzyme’s total global turnover.
