Genzyme’s excellence in the pharmaceutical field won praise from Jobs Minister Richard Bruton, who attended last week’s official opening of its €150 million extension at its Old Kilmeaden Road plant.
“Its commitment to investment and innovation in Waterford, coupled with the capabilities and skills of its workforce is proof positive that sustainable, high-skilled employment is still something that we in Ireland can do and do well,” said Minister Bruton.
IDA Ireland Chief Executive Barry O’Leary said the “first class production capabilities” at Genzyme were of the variety which his agency is aiming to attract in greater numbers to Ireland.
