Kilmacow Fuel & Agri Ltd. will unveil its new look store at a special celebratory event this weekend. Located on the Dublin Road at Skeard, Kilmacow, the impressive new store retains its charm and high standards of customer service but has added a number of exciting new products and innovative services. The store first opened in 2010 after John Walsh, former Manager of the Glanbia depot in Loughcullen, identified an opportunity to better serve farmers in his local community after the closure of several local agri businesses/co-ops.
A local man, with farming in his blood, John is keenly aware of the issues facing farmers and has been involved in the agri business since attending Gurteen Agricultural College in Co. Tipperary.
All at Kilmacow Fuel & Agri Ltd. (which is part of the Homevalue Hardware group) pride themselves on their intimate knowledge of the local area; their customers; the products which are offered; and the challenges facing the farming community. When the store first opened in 2010, the product range consisted mainly of agri related items.
However, Kilmacow Fuel & Agri Ltd. has substantially expanded and diversified its offering.

The new range of services which are now offered includes a comprehensive fertiliser service as well as reseeding services.Additionally, Kilmacow Fuel & Agri Ltd. is now an agent for Progressive Genetics for the Dunamaggin/Kells area. The impressive ‘Spuds & Stuff’ farm shop, located within the store, is a wonderful showcase of homemade products.
This dedicated area is home to a mouth-watering selection of tarts, brown breads, jams, chutneys etc. as well as potatoes, eggs and vegetables. The tempting array of items will offer something to suit all tastes and can be accompanied by a beverage from the Douwe Egberts tea and coffee dock. ‘Spuds & Stuff’ prides itself on promoting Irish products, especially those from the surrounding areas, and also stocks a selection of high quality homeware items.
Even though Kilmacow Fuel & Agri Ltd. has expanded and diversified, the store still retains its trademark ‘personal touch’.
