Despite the weekend’s heavy rainfall, farmers in Waterford and Kilkenny are openly expressing concern about the low levels of water visible in rivers, tributaries and wells.
The rain that has fallen in recent weeks has largely failed to return to the water table, thus heightening worries about what will happen should the weather remain as dry as it has of late.
