The Managing Director of Microsoft Ireland believes Waterford can actively pursue some of the estimated €9.5 billion which Goodbody Stockbrokers believes ‘cloud computing’ will inject into the Irish economy by 2014.
Speaking at a Waterford Chamber business breakfast at the Tower Hotel on Wednesday last, Paul Rellis said that Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) could prove a significant player in this burgeoning industry.
“Through the Department of Education we’re pushing very strongly about this,” said the Waterford-born Rellis, a Chartered Accountancy graduate from Waterford Regional Technical College as it was then known.
