As reported exclusively in last week’s Munster Express, the appointment of six new teachers for the country’s agricultural colleges is set to ensure that a further 150 students will study their CAO course of choice.
However, if widely held speculation holds any water, it appears that as many as 550 applicants will still face disappointment given the unprecedented demand for agri-college places.
While welcoming the new teaching appointments, IFA Deputy President Eddie Downey believes that more most be done “to secure additional resources for teaching posts”.
