Eoghan Dalton Reports
The planning application for the North Quays is expected to be submitted to Councillors by the middle of July at the latest. It should mean planning permission will granted by September according to Cllr John Cummins (FG).
Information provided to Councillors over the past week showed that some final work is being carried out by Falcon Real Estate on the environmental impact assessment which could see off any further delays since all information will have been submitted.

“That will be a massive milestone in the realisation of this once in a generation opportunity to transform our city for the better,” said Cllr Cummins.Meanwhile planning for the transportation hub will come before the Council shortly. “This is an integral part of the overall plan and will combine with the realignment of road infrastructure, rock stabilisation above the current Plunkett station and the sustainable transport bridge which have been subject to other part 8 planning applications and approvals,” said Cllr Cummins.
The Part 8 for the transport hub will be put on public display next month and it will be brought to the September sitting of the local authority for approval.
