The economist, author, broadcaster, lecturer and co-founder of the ‘Kilkenomics’ conference in Kilkenny (November 2nd to 6th) was in Waterford last week to address local Church of Ireland members on the morality of economics. It prompts a reference to the good book.
“Now if you read the Bible – which I wouldn’t be a regular reader of – but large chunks of the Old Testament deal with debt forgiveness,” he said. “Even in the Bible, it was realised that you have to forgive debt.”
