Local Gardaí are examining material seized at the home of a Waterford sports coach suspected of abusing two boys on a regular basis while in their teens in the 1980s.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed that the coach, who is now in his 60s, has not yet been formally arrested for questioning in connection with the alleged incidents, while Gardaí are continuing to sift through the material seized at his home.

Taoiseach commits to retaining WRH services

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has committed to retaining Waterford Regional Hospital’s current suite of services, including invasive cardiology, trauma and oncology services and the same patient referral basis it currently has, regardless of which hospital group it comes under.
