Haven_Hotel1Management at Dunmore
East’s Haven Hotel are
hopeful that the landmark
premises will reopen later
this summer, after a fire last
Wednesday night caused significant
smoke damage to the
premises.
Fire closes Haven Hotel
The hotel was evacuated
shortly after 11.30pm, after a
fire broke out on the premises.
Units from Dunmore East,
Tramore and Waterford city
were deployed to the scene to
attend what was described as a
‘significant’ blaze.
Teams wearing breathing
apparatus entered the building
to extinguish the fire and
make sure the evacuation was
complete.
Thankfully firefighters
extinguished the blaze before
it spread throughout the hotel
and most of the damage was
caused by smoke on the
ground floor. Speaking at
the hotel this week, manager
Sharon Kelly said work to
repair the damage would start
shortly and it was hoped that
the hotel would reopen within
the next six to eight weeks.
