Patrick Kennedy, Waterford and London, was honoured with an MBA degree for charitable work over many years.
The event took place on Friday 18th of November 2016 at the University of West London, in Ealing, London.
Patrick is a former President of the Ealing Chamber of Commerce and ran a gallery there just off the Broadway in Ealing.
The area is now getting the new Cross Rail system and on our visit there we saw an area in change.
Patrick was instrumental in restoring the grave of William Vincent Wallace and a further one in the future for another Late Waterford person in the same grave yard is planned.
He was very impressed on a recent visit to the annual dinner of the Waterford Chamber of Commerce That recognition was given to the Collins Brothers, Philip St. who died in World War One and Patrick had seen some of their graves in France and Belgium on a WW 1 battlefield visit.
An ex Mount Sion Pupil from the Ballybricken area of Waterford, he was delighted to have received an honorary degree for his work in business.
During his speech of acceptance he said that the school which also educated current Irish UK Ambassador Dan Mulhall , instilled into his heart was a moral compass that commenced there and also developed by the priests at Ballybricken and the Christian Brothers at Mount Sion school.
Patrick reckoned that this this gave him guidance and principles through his life to date.
Funds have been raised to restore the John A. Blake`s grave in Kensal Rise London.
