This is Patrick ‘Phad’ Hennessy’s fourth year working with the Imagine Festival. As music-co-ordinator, his role is a diverse but exceptionally enjoyable one:
“My job covers a lot of things and entails giving lots of time; basically I have to source bands and artists for the festival, someone vibrant and interesting, but a lot of time goes into that. Every year we’re always looking for a name that will attract a bit of attention – I’ve been chasing Billy Bragg for four years now so I was delighted to finally get him on the programme this year.
“The music committee, which is this year made up of himself and John Fitzpatrick, are always on the lookout. Even at the moment we’re looking for bands for next year, sending out emails and trying to get an interesting name for a reasonable price. It’s a full time job, albeit on a voluntary basis.
