We are seeing the dying moments of the current government with an election campaign coming up and, with the International Monetary Fund at the door, you would find it hard to expect anything else.
There were commitments from Fine Gael at their Faithlegg think-in last autumn that a new technological university could be on the cards. Perhaps that should be our focus looking ahead. The Minister for Enterprise and Education, Batt O’ Keeffe, has not been giving any positive noises but is damping down expectation.
