Sunday last was a very successful day for athletes from Ferrybank AC and West Waterford AC at the Munster Junior Indoor Championships in Nenagh. For Ferrybank AC in particular it was a most rewarding day as their athletes won a total of six titles.

Christopher russell had a 60m and 200m double, Thomas Barr won the 400m, Andrew Heffernan the high jump, Niamh Whelan the 60m and Nicola Power the long jump, while Cara Kennedy was third in the shot putt.

For West Waterford AC, Kate Veale had a fine double, winning the 3000m run and also the 3000m walk. Her clubmate Joe Conway was second in the 5000m walk.

In the senior 1500m Brian Swaby Waterford AC was third.

Mount Sion Road Race

 

On Saturday, January 24th the Annual 5 Miles Road Run and Walk will take place from the Mount Sion Centre in Waterford organised by the Mount Sion Darts Club in association with Waterford AC. Proceeds go to the Waterford Branch of the Alzheimer’s Society.

Registration from 12.30pm at Mount Sion Centre. Prizes for Junior, Senior and masters. Showers available and also refreshments. Race begins at 2pm.

Mallow Road Race

Next Sunday with a 12.30pm start the Annual Mallow 10 miles road race takes place. Race entries at the Youth Centre, Mallow. It is race 1 of the John Buckley Sports Series.

Baldy Man Run
