A father-of-two from Clonmel was one of four people killed on the nation’s roads last weekend, when he lost control of his motorbike at Monvoy, Tramore on Sunday afternoon.

John Fitzpatrick (35), from Lisronagh, Clonmel, Co Tipperary, was fatally injured when his motorbike careered into a ditch off a bend at Monvoy, shortly after 3.30pm. No other vehicle was involved in the tragic accident.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to Waterford Regional Hospital, where a post mortem was carried out on Monday. A number of serious accidents have taken place along that stretch of road in recent years.
