These days it is hard to know if art reflects life or vice versa. History shows that at any given time, even if we didn’t recognise it, those with the greatest influence and ability to change things were the writers, artists, singers and storytellers. It is also thanks to these individuals, no matter how large or small a part they played, that we have a body of work depicting social history and telling its own story.
