Up to 2,000 disadvantaged youngsters in Waterford city will be affected by funding cuts that will cripple vital youth projects in the coming months, especially during the crucial summer holiday period.
It follows an announcement of another blanket cut to the budget of Waterford’s Nine Special Projects for Youth Schemes (SPY) which targets young people who are disadvantaged due to a combination of factors such as social isolation, substance misuse, homelessness, early school leaving and unemployment.
Get them to do voluntary work.
