mugshotGardai have appealed for the public’s assistance in identifying two youths seen in the Morrisson’s Road and Barrack Street areas on the night the late Paddy Barry’s home was burgled last month.
Eighty-two year old Mr Barry slipped into a coma following the aggravated burglary, which took place between 9 and 9.30pm on Wednesday, 16th September at his Mount Sion Avenue home. He died some days later, having never regained consciousness.
This week gardai issued a photofit of one a young man they’d like to speak as part of their investigation into the burglary. The youth (pictured) is described as being approximately 6ft tall and of slim-build. On the night in question, he was wearing a dark hoodie with the hood up and was carrying an object in his hand.
He was accompanied by another youth, described as being similar in stature, and both were seen in the vicinity of Morrisson’s Road/ Barrack Street between 8.30 and 9.30pm on 16th September.
Supt Chris Delaney of Waterford Garda Station said a major investigation was continuing into this crime. “All lines of enquiry are being pursued and all necessary investigative and community support resources continue to be deployed. We are renewing our appeal to anybody who may have any information, however slight, in relation to this crime to contact us by ringing the Incident Room at Waterford Garda Station on 051-305300 or the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111.
