Eathen Boyle in control against Athlone Town at the RSC on 25th June

Having taken four points from their last two matches at the RSC
Athlone left the RSC with all three points from their SSE Airtricity League First Division clash with Waterford last night as a Philly Gorman goal gave Alan Matthews’ side victory.
The goal arrived on 18 minutes as Gorman picked up possession on the right side of the six-yard box before looping a right-footed shot to the far corner of the net past Robert Birdsall.
Waterford manager Roddy Collins was later banished from the sideline by referee Tomas Connolly on the advice of his fourth official Sean Grant.
Ross Fitzpatrick nearly grabbed a late equaliser on 86 minutes but his looping header after a Mikie Rowe flick on sailed inches over the bar.
