Portlaw poker player, Barry Foley (right), who won £18,000 in Newcastle last week with Britain’s Richard Sinclair who took the top prize of £67,000.

Waterford poker player, Barry Foley from Croughataggart, Portlaw, came 4th out of a field of 554 players at a major poker tournament in the English city of Newcastle last week. The best placed Irish player in the tournament, he took home a prize of just over £18,000. The winner, Richard Sinclair of England, walked away from the table with £67,000.
