THE positive work being undertaken by the Diocese of Waterford and Lismore has been praised in a report aimed at safeguarding children in the Catholic Church.
The ‘Review of Safeguarding Practice in the Diocese of Waterford and Lismore’ carried out by the National Board for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland (NBSCCCI) was conducted in 2012 and released last week.
The first independent report on the diocese states that Waterford and Lismore has ‘Fully Met’ 43 out of 48 criteria.
