AMERICAN travel show host Jonathan Legg delighted locals in Fenor when he visited the area during filming for his new TV series.
The popular presenter stopped off in the Copper Coast village last week during filming for the fourth season of ‘The Road Less Travelled’.
After meeting with members of Fenor Road Bowling Club, Jonathan Legg sampled road bowling for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
While in the South East, Jonathan Legg was also shown how to ride a motorcycle with precision from John Walsh at the Faugheen 50 race near Carrick-on-Suir.
His itinerary (which was designed by Fáilte Ireland) also saw him visit Strokestown House; Croke Park; Enniscorthy Castle; Dingle and a number of other locations across the country.
Along with his film crew, Jonathan looked at some of the new and unusual experiences on offer in Ireland while also examining Ireland’s unique food and drink experiences.
Fáilte Ireland said the US show provided Ireland with a publicity opportunity that would rival any traditional marketing drive.
Each episode of ‘The Road Less Travelled’ is broadcast across a number of popular channels including National Geographic, TLC, History, Travel and Escape, Travel and Adventure and Outside Television.
Commenting on his visit to Ireland, Jonathan Legg said: “I’ve always heard great feedback about Ireland from travellers and now I get it.
“The landscape is as lush and green as imagined and the sights are plentiful, but what really makes the experience are the people. They are eager to learn something about you, share something about themselves, and have a laugh in the process. That human connection always makes for the most life affirming situations.”
