On Saturday last at the All-Ireland Junior Indoor Championships in Nenagh three athletes from Waterford won titles. For Ferrybank, Ciara Giles Doran won the 200 metres in 24.91 seconds and Megan Kiely took the 400 metres in 49.15 seconds – both very good times for the Nenagh track. The third winner was Kate Veale, West Waterford who once again easily won the 3000 metres walk title in 13 minutes 57.10 seconds.

Three silver medals were also won by Ferrybank athletes, namely: Sorcha Murphy, joint-second in the High Jump with 1. 60 metres; Ciara Giles Doran in the Long Jump with 5.43 metres, and Megan Kiely in the 60 metres hurdles in 9.50 seconds. In the same event, Lisa Houlihan, West Waterford was 3rd in a time of 9.65 seconds.
