London 0-14 Waterford 1-10

We can’t say that this result was not coming. The Exiles, while they had won any of their games up to this past weekend, had been playing well. It’s just a pity that Waterford had to be the first team they picked off in what’s becoming a most competitive Division Four. The home side got off to a very good start in this game as Cathal McGee, Ciaran McCallion and Mark Gottsche hit early points to give them an early lead, but a Robert Ahearn effort brought Waterford back into the game.
Two points from Padraig McGoldrick, and one from Caolan Doyle soon helped extend the Londoners’ lead and they would have gone even further ahead but for a timely intervention from Conor Phelan to deny Greg Crowley. But Waterford came back into the game before the break and they hit the game’s only goal of the game courtesy of Robert Ahearne who rifled the ball home following some good work by Liam Ó Lionáin
