Given the fantastic start which Waterford’s senior footballers made to Division Four, the manner in which the wheels have come off the Deise’s promotion push over the past four rounds has been most disappointing.
Successive defeats to Limerick, London, Leitrim and the latest, Sunday’s seven-point reversal to Offaly at an arctic Carriganore, has seen the fizz generated by Waterford’s opening wins over Clare and Tipperary go decidedly flat.
