Ballinacourty are County Junior (Attached) Football champions following their four point success over Rathgormack at Fraher Field on Sunday last, a win they thoroughly deserved.
Rathgormack were surely kicking themselves after the game as, incredibly, they went the whole of the second half without scoring.
John Power opened the scoring for Rathgormack in the very first minute, but Ian Kiely quickly cancelled out that score with a goal for Ballinacourty in the third minute.
However, six minutes later, Rathgormack conjured a goal of their own through Kenny Hassett to put them a point up.
A brace of points from John Kirwan in 13th and 15th minutes further stretched Rathgormack’s lead but points from Shane Delahunty, Michael O’Halloran and Ian Kiely brought Ballinacourty back into the game by the 26th minute.
