Since coming under new ownership earlier this year, exciting plans have been put in place to ensure that Waterford Castle Hotel & Golf Resort remains a much loved and popular venue.
In particular, significant developments are progressing at the famous Golf Club.
With over €100,000 invested in the past six months alone and a new short game area opening in spring, it’s easy to see why Waterford Castle Golf Club is the winning choice.

Waterford Castle has spent over €100,000 in the past six months upgrading their green keeping machinery with the latest from Toro Golf.
This has allowed the green keeping team to produce the golf course to the highest of standards for all year round golf.
With the latest addition of two new tee boxes on the 2nd and 4th for men and the upgrade of the ladies 8th, the golf course will be an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all levels.
Over the winter months, considerable clearing will take place on the grounds so that the golf course can show off its true colours in the spring.
There has also been considerable investment in the practice facility.
This has included a new short game area being developed which will open in the spring under a cost of €50,000.
There has also been considerable investment in the Long Game area with new driving bays added and further targets on the range.
An upgrade of the lighting on the range has also been undertaken.
Additionally, the last six months have seen an upgrade in offerings at the resort’s Golf Shop with the latest trends in golf clothing and merchandise available to both members and visitors.
There has been an increase in Waterford Castle logo merchandise attire and members can avail of a reduced rate on all clothing.
Waterford Castle are also delighted to announce that they will now be offering the facility of custom fitting as they have recently signed up with two of the leading brands in world golf, Titleist and Ping.
This will allow golfers of all abilities to have the correct club in their hand when hitting the golf course and ensure that they produce that magical moment.
The new AP2 716 Titleist range will be available for all golfers to rent in the 2016 season.
In another exciting development, Ryan Madigan joined the team in March 2015 as the new Professional of Waterford Castle Resort.
Ryan brings with him the latest in teaching techniques for all levels of golfers and has been instrumental in many of the improvements throughout practice facilities.
He has been heavily involved with all teams this year and has enjoyed great success in his introductory to golf classes with both ladies and juniors.
Under the watchful eye of Ryan, Waterford Castle will add a new teaching bay to its already impressive teaching facilities.
This will have the latest in flightscope technology and allow a more private space for anyone looking to develop their game to the next level.
Currently, there are 450 members at Waterford Castle Golf Club but this is set to increase.
Director of Golf Eamonn O’Donnell explained that the Golf Club is actively seeking new members.
“We’re eager to attract new members to join us and can guarantee that they will feel very welcome,” he said.
“They will reap many rewards as we are in a position to offer great value for money. There will be significant future investment at Waterford Castle & Golf Resort so this definitely is the place to be a member. In addition, there is a great atmosphere and great camaraderie here.”
He paid tribute to all of the staff, management and members who have stayed loyal to Waterford Castle & Golf Resort.
