Gardaí seeking information after unprovoked assault
Gardaí are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two males who were involved in a unprovoked attack on a third male on the outskirts of Waterford City last week.
The assault took place at the Tramore Road Business Park on Wednesday, 2 April, at approximately 5.00 pm.
Two males, believed to be in their early 20s, wearing black or grey tracksuits, with hoodies up over their heads and covering their faces, approached a young man as he left his place of work in the business park, and assaulted him with a hurley, causing him facial injuries.
The two males made their escape on foot towards Waterford City, passing Dunphy’s Shop towards the Circle K garage on The Manor.
A Garda spokesperson said it would have been a busy time on this road and are asking anyone with information to contact Unit B at Waterford Garda Station on 051-305300 or via the confidential line on 1800 666 111.
The spokesperson added that CCTV has been obtained and investigations are ongoing.
Gardaí investigating fire incident
The Crime Unit at Waterford Garda Station are carrying out an investigation into a significant incident of criminal damage by fire which occurred at Hollymount, Carriganurra, Slieverue in the early hours of last Saturday, 5 April.
There were no injuries sustained in the blaze, which occurred around 2.05 a.m.
However, there was significant property damaged.
