Uisce Éireann crews have restored water supply to customers in Tramore today (Wednesday, 6 August) following a burst to a water main yesterday.

The burst impacted the water supply to customers on Queen Street and in surrounding areas.

Maura Phelan, Uisce Éireann Water Operations Manager, thanked affected customers for their cooperation during repair works "Uisce Éireann acknowledges the inconvenience caused by the prolonged interruption to the water supply and sincerely thanks our customers for their patience and cooperation while this essential repair work was carried out."

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges. As water supply returns, there may be instances of discolouration as the network refills. Customers are advised to run their taps until the water runs clear.
