Gardaí detected a man exceeding a 60 km/h speed limit on the Old Tramore Road last summer, the District Court heard.
Jamie Hearne (42) of 36 Bishopsfield, Williamstown, Waterford, appeared at a sitting of Waterford District Court this month before Judge Kevin Staunton. He was charged with driving while exceeding the 60 km/h speed limit. He was detected driving at 87 km/h by Gardaí while they were operating a speed checkpoint near Ballykinsella on the Old Tramore Road on 17 August, 2025. The court was told that a fixed charge penalty notice that was issued to the accused subsequently went unpaid.
The accused told Judge Staunton that he forgot to pay the fine. The Judge convicted the accused and handed him a €100 fine for the matter.
