Gardaí are investigating an assault that occurred near a house in Ballybeg, Waterford city, last night. 

The incident is believed to have involved the use of a weapon, and Gardaí attended the scene shortly after 9.15pm.

A Garda Spokesperson confirmed to The Munster Express: “Gardaí attended the scene of an assault near a domestic residence in Ballybeg, Waterford city shortly after 9.15pm on Thursday 26 March. 

“A male (aged in his 20s) was brought to University Hospital Waterford for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life threatening. Investigations are ongoing,” the spokesperson concluded.
