Villa 4; St Saviours 1

St Saviours’ poor run of results continued in Connors Park on Saturday night when they lost to the Villa. Having won their opening two games, the Ballybeg outfit have picked up just one point since then (a home draw with Dungarvan) and they are now very much in a relegation scrap with a number of other clubs. Following this latest setback their manager Alfie Hale resigned and Anthony Jacob will take over the role as player-manager. Danny Walsh put the home side in front on 29 minutes. Conor McDonald who has just returned from Australia increased Villa’s advantage on 50 minutes and he scored once again four minutes later. Stephen Dalton did pull a goal back for St Saviours on 66 minutes but Danny Walsh scored his second goal of the game on 72 minutes.
