Bandon 0; Waterford United 3

Having played out a 2-2 draw with the Waterford Oscar Traynor Cuo team in Cappoquin the previous week, Waterford United made the journey to Bandon, Co Cork on Saturday last and they duly won a game – marking the host club’s 40th anniversary – which was played in lashing rain allied to a swirling wind.
Willie John Kiely opened the scoring at Town Park on 12 minutes. Paul Murphy made it 2-0 after 26 minutes and Gary Keane, who scored the equaliser in the Cappoquin match, netted the Blues’ third goal on 67 minutes.
