Butlerstown 2-9; Kill 1-6

Butlerstown claimed the Eastern junior hurling title in a wet and sodden Walsh Park last Saturday afternoon when they came from behind to see off 2009 champions Kill.

An inspired substitution by manager, Ray Barry which turned this game in his side’s favour as just before half-time when introducing Ryan Butler and the youngster had a huge influence on the game thereafter.

Kill started very brightly in a hard fought first half and veteran full-forward, Anton Lennon put them in front in the second minute with an excellent point off his left hand side.

The much physically stronger Kill side looked to have the measure of their opponents in the wet conditions and almost had a goal when Eric Power pulled off a great save to deny Lennon.
