On Saturday last in Glasgow two young Waterford athletes competed for Ireland in the Annual Schools International Combined Events and both had very good performances.
Ciara Giles Doran, Mercy Convent in the junior grade had a brilliant competition, finishing a close second with a great total of 3426 points and she had three personal bests, in the 800 metres, Shot Putt and Hurdles.
In the intermediate grade Megan Kiely, Ursuline Convent was fourth overall and she too had a fine total of 3149 points which included two personal bests in the Shot Putt and Hurdles
