The young jockey who sustained a serious head injury at Dungarvan point-to-point on Tuesday of last week has died, the second such tragedy to befall his family.
Amateur rider Jack Tyner suffered a heavy fall from his horse Dusmagic at the first fence in the final race on the card. He was brought to Cork University Hospital, where he remained in an induced coma for almost a week before passing away early on Monday morning. He was 19.
