Southend United players must be sick and tired of Dungarvan United this season. This season they have beaten the city based team on two occasions in the league and they also knocked them out of the FAI Junior Cup.
On Sunday last they put paid to Southend’s Ardagh Cup hopes with a facile victory in Southend Park. Jondy Byrne was taken down inside the box after 12 minutes and Ross Power slotted home the penalty. Aidan Landers crossed for Micheal Downey on 28 minutes and the latter headed powerfully to the net.
The same player scored again after 63 minutes, running on to a long ball from Ross Power, getting past two defenders and finding the net.

Following those results, allied to Waterford Crystal’s victory over Ferrybank on Friday the draw for the Quarter Final ((Dungarvan are through to the semi-final):
