Work commenced on The Mall in recent days to facilitate the extension of the newly constructed Green Route on the Dunmore Road into the city centre.
However Mark Deevy of Deevy’s Motors, which has operated on Parnell Street for 58 years, has rubbished the newly constructed Dunmore Road section as ‘a joke’, adding that the introduction of a similar scheme with a bus lane and reduced parking on Parnell Street would put him out of business.
