Ferrybank 0; Waterford Crystal 5

Waterford Crystal have moved two points clear of Carrick United and three clear of Tramore following this facile victory over Ferrybank at Abbeylands. In their last three games, Crystal have scored a remarkable 15 goals (Bohs 5-3) and Dungarvan (5-0) and they have really set down a marker for the chasing pack.
They took the lead here after only 2 minutes when Joe Watson raced on to a pass from Jason Halloran and went around the goalkeeper before placing the ball into an empty net. Star of the show was Paul Quilty. He went into the match on a total of three goals but he doubled that total by scoring the fist hat-trick of the new season.
An unfortunate OG by Damien Heffernan completed the scoring on the night. The season may be only a few weeks old but the amount of own goals to date has reached the half-dozen mark already. Johnville are the next team to have to face the firepower of Crystal next Sunday, a task they won’t be looking forward to.
