At the Woodie’s DIY All-Ireland Senior Indoor Championships it the Odyssey Arena, Belfast last weekend Waterford athletes figured very prominently in several events, taking three titles and also coming home with a silver and two bronze medals.
On Saturday Ferrybank AC’s Kelly Proper retained her Long Jump title with a leap of 6.22m and this was her sixth successive victory in the event at these Championships.
On Sunday she was back in action defending her 200m crown which she won in 2009 and 2010 and once again she rose to the occasion to win in a time of 24.07 seconds and make it three 200m wins in a row.
