This year the Waterford New Music Festival restored its vigour and became the Michael Nyman festival as his works became the excitement in film and Nyman in person brought a buzz to the event. His famous Michael Nyman Band wowed and rocked and excited a capacity Good Shepherd Chapel audience with jazzy hot licks, urgent cinema music and tinkly piano, blaring brass and beautiful flute and piccolo sounds. This was a blast.
