The fledgling contemporary art gallery, SOMA, is to be congratulated on obtaining Arts Council funding as it implies recognition as well as support for young artists who need such a space. I commend the Arts Council for this and Conor Nolan, the Arts Officer for Waterford City Council for his persistence and faith in helping to set up this arts space in Lombard Street.
