A group of five Waterford athletes have been selected to compete at the 2011 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Athens.
Special Olympics Ireland announced details of Team Ireland’s 126 athletes and 49 coaches last week.
Eileen Hayes from Kill, Keith Whelan, Cork Road, Vincent Rockett, Mount Estate, Colm Brennan, Kilbarry and Christopher Power Dungarvan, along with football coach Emma Smyth, will join 7,500 Special Olympics athletes from 185 nations for the Games, which take place from 25th June – 4th July.
