Now in its 57th year, the famous Texaco Children’s Art Exhibition is back in Waterford at the very accessible Christ Church Cathedral. The range and inspirational scope of the work is again very impressive with excellent pieces some fine colourful collage and topical interest like J-Epic featuring Jedward from Dearbhla Reid age 15 from Bagnelstown.
Nicholas Pochinkov age 11 from Enniskerry has a glorious The Mother of Ireland, as three female faces morph out of flames bordered with De Valera, Peace and Michael Collins. The detail in Russian Dolls that get smaller and smaller by Liadan O’Hare age 11 from Gaelscoil Dunshaughlin is excellent and then you notice the fun in the detail as each face has its tongue cheekily sticking out. Wonderful.
