A large crowd turned up in Graun Park to watch this interesting game last week. Alan Reynolds, the Tramore manager has assembled a new look squad for the new season and it was clear to see from this game that the seasiders will be one of the favourites to win the Premier League which will get underway next week. The Waterford United under 19 team are also preparing for their first ever season in the new national league, and they will play under the guidance of two Tramore clubmen, Tommy Griffin and Johnny Browne. It was strange to see those two men trying to plot the downfall of their own club in this game. The young Blues paraded players like Adam Potter, Conor Coad, Jack Doherty and David Cooley, guys who have won every possible honour with the Villa at schoolboy level. Tramore fielded Kevin Walsh, who has joined the club from Dungarvan United, Paul Quilty who has been playing in recent years with Waterford Crystal and Phil Drohan who signed up from New Ross Celtic. One of the problem positions for Tramore in recent season was the goalkeepers spot, but Alan Reynolds has secured the service of the former Waterford United netminder Josh Byrne and he could prove to be the player who will see the Graun Park outfit feature big time during the coming nine months.
