Kerry 4-16; Waterford 0-6

Clare 4-14; Waterford 1-9

Waterford’s minor footballers were given a footballing lesson when Kerry inflicted a 22-point defeat on their Deise visitors at Austin Stack Park on Wednesday last. Sadly, it didn’t get much better in the play-off 63 hours later when Clare defeated the Deisemen by 14 points.
It’s eight years since Waterford beat both Cork and Kerry to win the Under-21 football championship and nine years since Waterford’s last big result in minor football when drawing with Cork in Carraigtwohill Since then, it’s been a tale of woe results wise.
