Southend United 0; St Francis (DDSL) 1

Southend were knocked out of the SFAI U16 cup when they lost at home to St Francis of the DDSL on Saturday afternoon last. A second-half penalty from Jordan Gardiner proved good enough for the visitors to book their place in the last eight.
The Dublin side took the game to their hosts from the opening whistle, but the Southend defence were confident in dealing with their attacks. Hardy Sharpe and Jay Ormond had efforts from distance go harmlessly over the bar during the opening quarter.
